PREMIERE : Erotonine - The Return of Dimitrios
from Les Yeux Orange · host Les Yeux Orange
Athanasios EP (House / Minimalist / Spoken) Diamonds raining from the sky. A plane to Buenos Aires. It was all meant to end the way it had begun: in love, with nothing but clear skies ahead. But that was only on paper. Then some two-bit Philip Marlowe had to stick his nose in and send the whole thing off the rails. What had they done to deserve the heavens coming crashing down on them? Living in sin? Maybe, maybe not. Like some romantic subplot from a bad eighties movie, Athanasios’s music seems almost tailor-made for the twists and turns, and could practically teach a masterclass in vice and virtue. Erotonine (n.) : A neurotransmitter secreted by the limbic system during sensual interactions, lingering gazes, or the sudden resurfacing of buried erotic memories. Erotonine flows between neurons like a soft caress, heightens skin sensitivity, amplifies the pulse of desire, and blurs the line between emotion and carnal pleasure. Released in microdoses during romantic tension or fleeting contact, it can flood the cortex when the imagination catches fire. Unlike dopamine, which seeks reward, or serotonin, which balances mood, erotonine feeds anticipation, gentle obsession, and delicious unrest. Some say an excess of erotonine can trigger lucid dreams with cryptically sensual content, while chronic deficiency might explain a certain kind of tactile melancholy. Composition, mixing and mastering : François Le Doré
