Rarely do musical collaborations like today’s premiere come around. More often than not it’s a pair of artists teaming up, perhaps a trio here or there. To have four, marks a special occasion. For their third ‘Sphere’ release of the series, Munich based imprint IO Records continues the practice of looking inwards. As a veritable mix and match of all the founders plus a few close friends equate to a jam packed 14 track volume that manages to showcase each artist's unique sound. While simultaneously showing off their collective talents to work together seamlessly. Breaking Force brings together a plethora of elements as the dub influences leap out immediately. Setting the tone for the duration through to the breakdown and providing the main melodic touch. Additionally, rich textures and tweaked synths are expertly layered on top. This combination with the snippy hi-hats and snares provide a genre bending tune that blurs the line between bass, half-time, dub and everything in between.
