PREMIERE: Gonno - Arabica [禁 JIN]

Japanese electronic music mainstay Gonno is back with another quality EP in the form of Taiwanese imprint JIN’s 8th release. The label, which usually focuses on dancefloor oriented 4/4 from Asian talent, has featured many prominent artists from the region including Mr. Ho and Sunju Hargun. JIN08 consists of 4 tracks, 3 Gonno originals backed by a Voiski remix. The B2, Arabica, serves as a beautiful ambient closer, serving as a perfect complement to the preceding three tracks, juxtaposing all the emotions from the other tracks with the melancholy and nostalgia that comes at the end of a fun night out. From bubbly, happy house on “Energy Flash” to IDM on “Final Hate” to Voiski’s synth-oriented reinterpretation of “Energy Flash”, the EP continues Gonno’s streak of avant-garde dance floor goodness that we have come to expect.
