Inspired by astronomy, science fiction, and the quiet vastness of space, the EP unfolds like an unknown transmission from somewhere beyond reach. Shimmering textures, cavernous atmospheres, and piercing leads move through deep, dubby grooves, creating a sense of pressure suspended between movement and stillness. ‘Crater’ opens with a bouncy rolling groove and deep, eroded textures that feel carved into the landscape of an unknown planet. ‘Stardust’ follows, bringing a more emotional dimension, balancing celestial synth work with understated rhythmic propulsion. ‘Transmission’ then drifts between dubbed-out atmospheres and hypnotic repetition, gradually revealing fragments of melody like distant radio signals cutting through static. Berlin-based producers Delta Division & Silvers reinterpret ‘Crater’ with their 'Hallucinogenic Acid Mix', transforming the original into a darker, more focused interpretation. Leaning into tension, weight, and hypnotic repetition, the remix expands the EP’s sonic universe while remaining true to its atmospheric core. With Orbit EP, HAKEEM turns his gaze outward, using unfamiliar terrain to uncover a new dimension of his sound.
