PREMIERE: Mina Lord - Drill To Serve [SUBVERTED]

from THE BRVTALIST · host THE BRVTALIST

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Mina Lord. "Drill To Serve" comes off the the new EP, Flock, forthcoming on Berlin's SUBVERTED. The EP began as a simple observation: how easily people surrender their critical thinking and follow the crowd. Mina Lord drew a parallel to sheep - not just as a visual, but as a reference to the biblical metaphor of the shepherd and the flock. But in this story, one sheep crowns itself the shepherd. And without question, the others follow. Or, to put it more sharply: they submit - even though this self-appointed leader may be clueless, misguided, or driven by more evil intentions. The EP explores the absurdity and danger of blind obedience, whether to a leader who is incompetent, malevolent, or simply empowered by the sheer force of numbers. It’s a critique of how collective inert Out March 6th.
