Moody McIvor is a Darkwave/Synthwave act fronted by Christopher McIvor from the Gold Coast, Australia, with production support from Felipe Bortoloti (Nørus), originally from Brazil and now based in Portugal. Formed in 2021, the project blends ethereal soundscapes with pulsating rhythms, weaving together electronic textures and organic depth for a sound that is both intimate and expansive. The debut release on McIvor’s new sublabel Ronnie’s Records, Shadow Frequencies, is a deeply personal body of work developed over four years and dedicated to the memory of close friend Benaiah Fiu. Each track channels love, loss, and memory through haunting melodies, evocative vocals, and emotionally rich atmospheres.
