PREMIERE: Pert - Skin [MX - VA02]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Pert. "Skin" comes off the new v/a, Papilio Bachus, forthcoming on Slovenian imprint Mozaix. The second metamorphosis of the Mozaix family—a celebration of power, transformation, and the divine feminine in all its forms. This butterfly is known for its rare beauty and striking duality: soft cream tones contrasted by bold, dark margins. It mirrors the strength and sensitivity embodied by FLINTA artists and their creative expression. In this chapter, Mozaix hands the stage entirely to FLINTA artists—those too often underrepresented in electronic music—proving that mastery, depth, and innovation know no gender. The compilation flows through hypnotic textures, raw grooves, and bold sonic statements, each track a wingbeat in a collective flight toward visibility and liberation. The name references Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and ecstatic ritual, whose rites were often led by women and gender-nonconforming individuals. Bacchus symbolizes liberation through rhythm, creative chaos, and trance-like transformation—an energy this VA fully embraces. Just like the butterfly itself, these artists emerge from the cocoon of silence, taking flight with intention and power. Papilio Bacchus is not just a VA. It’s a movement.
