PREMIERE: Surgeon - Brownian Motion (Justyn Nell Remix) [SOMA 35.2]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere Justyn Nell's remix of Surgeon's classic "Brownian Motion". Forthocming on Glasgow's SOMA, the SOMA35 project celebrates the label's enduring catalogue by turning its attention to one of the defining releases in Soma Records' history - Surgeon's seminal 1996 EP, Muggerscum Out. As Soma Records continues its 35th anniversary celebrations, the SOMA35 series shines a light on the records that helped define not only the label's identity, but the evolution of techno itself, creating a dialogue between the label's past, present and future. Originally released at a pivotal moment in UK techno, Muggerscum Out captured Surgeon at his most uncompromising. Its stripped-back intensity, industrial edge and hypnotic power would go on to become hallmarks of Birmingham techno, influencing countless artists while cementing Soma's reputation as a home for fearless electronic music.
