PREMIERE : Troels Yuri - 6X303=1818

In electronic music, few sounds are as instantly recognizable, or as overused, as the Roland TB-303 acid squelch. Instead of avoiding it, as he often does, Troels Yuri decided to embrace it wholeheartedly, delivering two tracks that put a personal spin on the sound of acid, released, naturally, on March 3rd, the unofficial 303 day. The first track, 6×303=1818, lives up to its name, using no fewer than six 303 instances running in parallel to create detailed, contrasting parts from a single sound source. The second track, Weirder and Weirder, features no 303s at all. Instead, it takes a sampled phrase from a well-known psychedelic guru and loops and reshapes it in a way that feels entirely at home within an acid house framework.
