PREMIERE : Viktor Mercier - Mini Keum

from Les Yeux Orange · host Les Yeux Orange

Precious Stones proudly welcomes its first-ever solo release from an artist outside of its founder’s own catalogue, and it couldn’t feel more aligned. JAJANKEN comes from Nice-born, Barcelona-based producer Viktor Mercier, a true hidden gem whose refined sound feels both intimate and expansive. Emerald & Viktor first met at an afterparty during Sonar Festival in Barcelona, where an instant connection was formed over shared humour, a love for Viktor’s cat Momo, musical curiosity, and a mutual appreciation for stripped-back grooves. What started as a late-night music exchange quickly turned into something obvious: this was a sound that belonged on the label. His productions are gorgeous yet controlled: warm low-end pressure, crisp percussive detail, hypnotic loops. Minimal house with soul understated, magnetic rollers full of character. This is club music for heads. Built for long blends, early-morning rooms. Every track is engineered with the dancefloor in mind - clean, spacious, and deceptively powerful. Across the EP, Mercier cuts and polishes four high-grade rollers built on warm low-end pressure, crisp percussion and hypnotic loops. Driving drum machines, cosmic vocal fragments and writhing acid lines collide in a sound that is otherworldly, fluid and deceptively powerful. Clean, spacious and engineered for long blends and early-morning rooms, each track glimmers with tension and release like light across polished stone. With his origins at the intersection of French, African, Caribbean & Kanak roots and a deep connection to rhythm, Viktor brings a natural fluidity to his creation. That same sensibility runs beyond the studio into fashion, where he founded L’amour C’est Cool as a visual extension of his musical emotion, a reflection of the warmth, restraint, and feeling found in his sound. This EP marks a new chapter for the label: expanding its family while staying true to its identity. Viktor Mercier may be a hidden gem, but not for long.
