Welcome to the Bungle: The Next Level of Failure Well that didn't work. So this time we did a test beforehand and everything was all good. Then I checked the file afterwards - no good. This time it's the L (Joe) channel that went haywire*, which I guess is only fair (*honestly I think the audio could only be worse if we used hay instead of wire). Crackle, echo and skip - no, it's not a trio of Saturday morning cartoon characters - it's what makes the first half of the left side of this commentary more unbearable than usual. It starts right away, probably in reaction to the opening song. The difference is, this time, by around the 50min mark it actually clears up and comes good! So the whole semi-futzed L channel has been included and maybe the best way to listen to this thing is through earphones and to take out the left earphone until the 50min mark - but check in at 2:57 to marvel at the irony of a complete d-head saying "I think I've finally sorted this" as the audio crackles and echoes and skips and makes it hard to understand what's being said. So I'm not gonna make any claims that next time it's gonna be smooth sailing because if I get any more egg on my face I'm gonna suffocate to death. Let's just hope that there's light at the end of this sewerage pipe. I'm gonna do everything I can to get it to work and also record a backup so if something does go wrong again, we should still be covered. It's a good thing we're doing Scream next, because after all these technical errors, that's exactly what I want to do. Discussed in this episode: why the f doesn't anyone try to actually destroy this damnable boardgame? Sarah's culpability in Alan's 26-year jungle of death stint (and complete lack of sympathy) child-hunting paternal proxies realtors who realty don't give a damn the greatest sustaining-increasing-damage object in film identifying with the unfit rhino the immortal Carl "Sole Man" Bentley (deservedly so) and the disgracefully mishandled investigation into the suspected murder of Alan Parrish. Roll the dice, Sarah! Roll the motherflipping DICE!!! (if you want to sync it up to the film, we hit PLAY @ 02:37) [EDIT - (which isn't really an edit because this is being written prior to posting) - the next recording setup worked - I think I've finally sorted this! For real this time! Everyone can breathe a huge sigh of ambivalence.]
