[PREVIEW] 🎙🧚♀️ #031 - Men In Black
from Commentary Fairy
✔︎ Terrific humour ✔︎ Terrific practical effects, visual effects, makeup and production design ✔︎ Terrific Danny Elfman score ✔︎ Terrific lead performances from Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones with terrific chemistry ✔︎ Terrific all-time brilliant villain performance from Vincent D'Onofrio Thank god the Men in Black haven't felt the need to flashy-thing away our memory of this film, because if they did, we would lose a true sci-fi action comedy classic. Discussed in this episode: The genius of Vincent D'Onofrio Kay's original partner, Deangelo Delacorte Baffling Australian censorship of off-camera landing noises that then creates continuity problems Insufficient compensation for flushing your entire existence down an anonymous alien toilet The mystery of the egg-sized Arkillian Prince's actual cause of death Disappearing neck wounds The futility of creating alternative memories when the physical truth of what has just happened is right under your nose Igniting public awareness in the constellation of Orion's waist fastener Slow-moving, easily controllable movie cockroaches The Nanny opening jingle Possibly hallucinated frame-by-frame collectible flipbooks of shots from the movie (the other one I remember was of the trailer shot of TLJ and WS kicking the door in and stepping forward with their guns) Magical self-cleaning suits Marist Bros., the rap song [WARNING: ONLY FOR MATURE AUDIENCES - contains use of the word "prick".] (if you want to sync it up to the film, we hit PLAY @ 04:26)
