[PREVIEW] 🎙🧚‍♀️ #087 - Entrapment

We're back from hiatus and stronger than ever! (1% strength instead of zero). And it's time for another pair of twin films! This time it's the 1999 female-insurance-investigator-looks-into-theft-of-valuable-painting-which-leads-her-to-become-intimately-involved-with-wealthy-art-thief-portrayed-by-ex-James-Bond twofer of Entrapment and The Thomas Crown Affair. The only difference in this version is a 39-year age gap between the romantic leads, whereas Thomas Crown elected to go with a gap one 39th as large. Still, you barely notice the difference. Discussed in this episode: Proportional box office success Connery's cost-saving Scottish self-driving technique Advancements in blinds technology Calling someone at 4:30am and being upset when they don't answer The first and last words Michael Douglas said to Catherine Zeta-Jones Stealing a woman's entire wardrobe to force her to sleep naked, which she apparently does anyway "Soup to nuts" explained Getting hung up on movie hang ups Underwater scuba stand-ins (swim-ins?) Security guard change-overs: providing thieves with crucial windows of opportunity since 1850 Skin-tight CGI Marvel costumes A 30-second refusing-the-job bluff worth 3 billion dollars Covering up CZJ's naked body because ew The surefire way to a beautiful woman's heart: drowning her and setting her up to be killed. She'll be putty in your arthritic hands. Amainda Seyfried stealing time Steel construction cables only rated to hold up light bulbs Allowing the international art thief a courtesy minute to confer with his criminal partner The least popular train platform in Kuala Lumpur A billion dollars not being enough petty cash to live off comfortably, necessitating a South African blood diamond heist Compelling evidence that this is a film about two ghosts with natural teleporting abilities Home-and-contents insurance companies with globe-trotting undercover agents Putting your on-set standby carpenter to good use (if you want to sync it up to the film, we hit PLAY @ 5:18)
