Price Matching. Good or Bad?

We know that price matching at big box stores like Walmart and Best Buy is a thing. You go into the big box stores ready to buy your dream 80 inch TV and come prepared with the local paper advertisement so you can price match.   This behavior is typical in the electronics space. However, in optometry, it's important to maintain your professional status and never succumb to price matching. Our fees are set at certain prices for a reason, we have a quality of care standards to maintain.   When you price match for contacts, exams, glasses, dry eye treatments, etc., you set the precedence you are always willing to negotiate.  There's a reason why patients go to professional practices and opticals, they want service and help. Give it to them and then don't apologize for your prices.   Not everybody want's cheap. People enjoy a great in-office experience and paying a fair price because they want easy.
