परिवर्तनम्

अमरावतीनगरे कस्मिंश्चित् आश्रमे बहवः शिष्याः अध्ययनं कुर्वन्ति स्म । एकः शिष्यः चौर्याभ्यासे लिप्तः आसीत् । अन्यैः शिष्यैः सः द्विवारं चौर्यसमये गृहीतः । तदा सर्वे तं बहिष्कर्तुं गुरुं प्रार्थितवन्तः ।  किन्तु गुरुः तस्य बहिष्करणं न अनुमोदितवान् । 'एषः आश्रमात् बहिष्कृतः चेत् को वा एतम् आहूय विद्यां बोधयेत् ?’ इति अवदत् । एतानि वचनानि श्रुत्वा चोरशिष्यस्य मनः परिवृत्तम् । सः गुरोः पादौ गृहीत्वा अश्रुधारया क्षालितवान् ।(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)In the city of Amaravati, there was an ashram where many disciples studied. One of the disciples was involved in theft. He was caught stealing twice by the other disciples. They all requested the guru to expel him from the ashram. However, the guru did not approve of his expulsion. He said, "If he is expelled from the ashram, who will call him and teach him?" Hearing these words, the thief disciple's mind changed and held the guru's feet.
