Product Alert: Tattooed Chef

Via Gluten Free Watchdog: Product warning for Tattooed Chef Plant Based Egg Roll Bowl. This product is labeled gluten-free yet includes "malt extract" in the ingredients list. The manufacturer has been contacted. Their response in part: “The ingredient that contains malt extract is manufactured in Italy and the malt extract is gluten free.” The manufacturer has been advised of the Code of Federal Regulation definition for malt extract & has been reminded that under the FDA's gluten-free labeling rule, malt extract is not allowed in foods making a gluten-free claim (please see screenshot of FDA statement).
