Professor John Eastman on the Electoral College

As part of Radio 1190's 2020 Election night coverage, Professor John Eastman explains the electoral college and his stance on the system used to determine the US's presidency. In the 2020 election, Colorado voters were able to vote on Proposition 113, which, if passed, would result in Colorado joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement between states to award their electoral college votes to whichever candidate wins the national popular vote. According to the Denver Post, Colorado passed Proposition 113 with a 52.1% YES vote. However, the NPVIC would not come into effect until states representing at least 270 electoral votes, the number of electoral votes one needs to win the presidency, adopt it, according to Ballotpedia. Professor John Eastman is the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law & Community Service at Chapman University and the 2020-2021 Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy at CU Boulder's Bruce D.
