Some silly politicians wish to convert this important piece of infrastructure into a park. Beneath the surface there is a larger discussion about how stupid some rules are … and how they are to change. Several years ago there was a movement to extend the runway at this airport so it could service planes with longer range - this was met with fierce resistance.
