Proshno | প্রশ্ন by Rabindranath Tagore | রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর

The poem "Proshno" by Rabindranath Tagore delves into the philosophical exploration of existential questions that challenge the human spirit. This poem engages with profound and unsettling questions about life's purpose, the nature of existence, and human suffering. He uses a series of rhetorical questions to provoke deep reflection in the reader, encouraging contemplation of one's own life and the often painful quest for meaning. The stark, introspective nature of these questions suggests that true understanding comes from grappling with these existential dilemmas, rather than avoiding them. Tagore’s use of simple, yet powerful language amplifies the impact of these questions, making "Proshno" a poignant reminder of the human condition and our perpetual struggle to find answers.
