Protected and Delivered by the Blood of the Lamb: Passover

Exodus chapters 10-13 tells of the great deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt by the "strength of hand of the LORD". The LORD redeems a people to serve Him. The redemption requires a setting apart by the LORD Ex 11:7 "that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." because of the LORD's favor, which in Hebrew is the same word for grace. But first the LORD questions Pharoah, EX 10:3 : How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me." Who will we serve? Eph 2:8 "By grace you have been saved through faith". The Israelite national identity is formed together with unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, and the "great cry" of the deaths of the first born of the Egyptians. The LORD commands the institution of the memorial of Passover for all generations. We are to remember His redemption came with a great price and we are commanded to Ex13:2 "Sanctify unto Me all the first-born." We discuss Yeshua, our unblemished Passover lamb. We talk of the memorial of the Lord's supper and Yeshua's body broken for us, and the new Covenant in his blood which protects and delivers us from the bondage of sin. 1Cor 11:28: "Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup...31-32 If we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the LORD. so that we would not be condemned with the world." 1Cor6:20 "You were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
