This four-part in-depth series will be exploring the mitzvah of loan amnesty related to the Sabbatical Year known as ‘Shemitah’ (as is this current year of 5782); the legal mechanism of the ‘pruzbul’ procedure; and the Rebbe’s novel approach to the enactment of the pruzbul.  In this episode we will explore the mitzvah of loan amnesty ('shmitat kesafim') and the legal mechanism of the ‘pruzbul’ procedure enacted by Hillel.
