Perhaps the house is quieter, or perhaps you’re simply enjoying a few moments before the night begins. It’s often at this time that our minds return to unfinished tasks, unanswered questions or tomorrow’s responsibilities. Yet before we carry any of that into the night, let’s sit quietly together and remember that God is already holding what we cannot. Scripture (NIV) “In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves.” — Psalm 127:2 Heavenly Father, thank You that Your care for us never depends on how much we can achieve. Tonight we place into Your hands everything we have carried today. We leave behind our worries, our plans and the things we cannot change before morning comes. Teach us to receive the gift of rest without guilt and to trust that Your loving care continues while we sleep. Let Your peace settle over our homes, refresh every weary heart and prepare us to welcome a new day with renewed hope and quiet confidence in You. Fear will not win, because the God who watches over us lovingly gives rest to those He loves. May the Lord bless your home with His peace tonight, give you refreshing sleep and remind you that His faithful care never comes to an end.
