This morning, we turn our eyes towards Jesus before fear tells us what to expect. Scripture — Psalm 27:1 (NIV) “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” There are mornings when fear can make the day feel larger than we are. Before you have even stepped into the day, your mind may already be thinking about family, work, health, money, or things happening in the world. Yet this morning, before fear tells you what to expect, we turn our eyes towards the Lord. David says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” Lord Jesus, thank You that Your light is not overcome by the darkness around us. You are our salvation, our refuge and our confidence. Today we pray for people in Canada, Brazil, Hungary, Romania, Russia, and Ireland. Bring courage to those waking with uncertainty and protection to those facing difficult circumstances. Holy Spirit, help us remember that we do not face this day by our own strength. Jesus, when fear speaks loudly, teach us to listen to Your voice. When we imagine everything that could go wrong, bring us back to what is true. You are with us. You are faithful. You are greater than the things that frighten us. And as we begin this day, give us courage not because we know what will happen, but because we know who holds us. Let Your light guide our first steps, steady our hearts and help us walk forward with confidence. Lord Jesus, we place this day into Your hands. Let fear lose its grip, and let faith rise quietly within us. Amen.
