Psalm 69 | Part 3: Psalms for Shepherds
from Psalms for Shepherds · host Holly Culhane, Psalms for Shepherds
Today we're concluding our time in Psalm 69. In these final verses, David reminds us how to display our trust for the Father. Even in the midst of persecution, he praises God and trusts that he will be delivered.30 I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.31 This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.32 When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.33 For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them.35 For God will save Zion and build up the cities of Judah, and people shall dwell there and possess it;36 the offspring of his servants shall inherit it, and those who love his name shall dwell in it.These verses are a beautiful and Godly way to end a cry for help to the Father. This Psalm is an encouragement for us all to claim God's promises for our lives. In the toughest moments as a Shepherd Leader, in fact in every moment, we must remember what God has promised us. He promises us unconditional love, His peace, the gift of the Holy Spirit, the promise of eternal security... and so much more. No matter what you're going through, rest in those promises and recount them out loud. And may you live deeply into your calling this week.
