I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” As evening settles and the day comes to a close, many people long for more than physical rest. They long for peace. They long for the quiet confidence that comes from knowing they are safe in God’s care. The responsibilities of the day may be ending, but concerns, questions, and unfinished thoughts can sometimes remain. Many people carry those thoughts into the night. Psalm 91 has comforted believers for generations because it reminds us that God is not distant from our lives. He is our refuge. He is our shelter. He is our place of safety. The image of resting beneath the shadow of His wings speaks of protection, care, and nearness. It reminds us that we are not left to face life alone. Tonight, we do not have to carry every burden into tomorrow. We can place our concerns into the hands of a faithful God. We can release the things we cannot control and trust the One who remains watchful through every hour of the night. God’s presence does not diminish when the lights go out. His care remains constant. Father, thank You for bringing me safely to the end of this day. Thank You for Your protection, Your provision, and Your faithfulness throughout every moment. Jesus, tonight I place every worry, every concern, and every unanswered question into Your hands. Help me rest in the assurance that You are my refuge and my fortress. Holy Spirit, surround me with Your peace and calm every anxious thought. Fill my heart with quiet confidence and help me sleep deeply, knowing that God’s loving care surrounds me. Across the world, from Nashville to Lagos, from Singapore to Auckland and Tokyo, may anxious hearts find refuge, weary minds discover peace, and every listener experience the comfort of resting beneath the shadow of God’s wings tonight.
