“Pushing Through”

Pushing Through. When I say it out loud, it hits different. I’ve had to push through so much. Still I keep going. Sometimes I’m not sure why and then other times I’m reminded of why. The journey of “self” is scary and amazing! You never know what you’re going to get or should I say I never know what I’m going to get. Being a person with an absent parent presents so many obstacles. It presents and creates insecurities, doubt, ambivalence and so many other words I don’t care to say right now because I begin to feel the pain. It creates so many feelings that come at so many random times, that it’s difficult to keep up with. Just when I think I understand exactly how I’m feeling regarding my absent parent, I am blindsided by the pain that I express. I don’t always feel the volume of pain I express. Yet it’s there. I continue to push through and learn about myself because I owe it to myself to be the best version of me. I’ll share how I continue to build my community of support so I am able to put my self in a position to push through successfully or not. It’s a marathon. I love me and you should love you.
