Put the phone down: Distracted driving law now in effect in Pa.
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
Starting Friday, June 5, if you get caught using your phone while you're driving in Pennsylvania, you'll get a ticket. The new law is called Paul Miller's Law, named after a man who was killed by a distracted driver in the Poconos. The law prohibits the use of hand-held devices while driving, even if you're stopped at a red light or crawling in traffic. Drivers can still use their phones to alert authorities in the event of an emergency and use hands-free technology to make phone calls, use a GPS, and listen to music.
