Kevin asks this question, "Two years ago, I did a rebrand for an old work colleague and his company. It went down well and was well received. Yesterday, their Marketing Manager got in touch saying that they've been making a few tweaks to some of their documents internally and wanted to update the brand guidelines document reflecting this. They were asking if I was able to share the packaged design files with them? Now I know the owner but part of me goes 'hang on, I don't want to share the InDesign Brand Guidelines file with them as that's losing potential work for me, or maybe if they have someone else doing brand work then they just want my file'? Where do people stand on this? Or am I overthinking it? I don't want to fall out with my old colleague but at the same time feel a bit weird about giving them the deck to do what they want with it for free?"
