巡礼の年第１年中では最も有名な、とはいうもののあまり知名度が高いわけでもなさそうな曲。写実的というか印象派の萌芽のようなというか、そういう趣のある作品です。 もっとも、本家印象派とは随分と違って、より直接的な、絵画的なイメージが喚起されるのですが。 リストの水の描写としては、巡礼の年第３年の「エステ荘の噴水」がまずは思い浮かびます。 あちらの方がより水らしいかな・・
