#tifr #quantumcomputer #tifrscience #chaiandwhy This interview was recorded on the 18th of November 2019 Dr R Vijayaraghvan is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Condensed Matter Physics & Materials Science at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. He currently heads the Quantum Measurement and Control Laboratory where the main goal is to understand and improve the basic elements that go into building a quantum computer using superconducting circuit technology His lab is the first in India to work on building a quantum computer using superconducting circuits. Dr Vijay & his team recently built a new type of three-qubit quantum processor called the "trimon" and are currently working on scaling this to a larger number of qubits.
