In this presentation, Queering Black Representation in European Art, artist, poet, and historian Tayla Myree explores how Black people have been represented within the canon of European art history and examines how questions of gender, sexuality, and race intersect in visual culture and historical narratives.The event took place on May 7 at Queer Museum Vienna. Tayla Myree is based in Vienna and works across film, photography, prose, and sound. They hold a Master’s degree in Comparative History from the Central European University and are a member of the Video and Video Installation Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
