Rathcroghan Visitor Centre - The Today Show 23/03/26

from Ros FM 94.6 · host ROS FM

Rathcroghan is known as the ancient Capital of Connacht, where the festival of Samhain (Halloween) is said to originate. This majestic landscape is the oldest and largest unexcavated Royal Site in Europe. You can experience Rathcroghan’s rich archaeology, mythology and history through their interpretive rooms and expertly guided tours. One such guide at the centre is Mike McCarthy who joined Adrianne in the studio to talk about the wonderful treasures that Rathcroghan hold and the various facilities there i.e. school tours, individual self guided tours, meeting rooms, and a coffee shop. He also talks about a new Walking Trail, which will open in the Summer, and his own one- man storytelling roadshow entitled ‘Who Shot Queen Meabh?’, which he hopes to tour in theatres around the county in the Autumn. To book a tour or for more information go to www.rathcroghan.ie or call 071 9639378.
