Kortā mēs neesam draugi, draudzība jānoliek malā un ir jāstrādā,” atzīst ratiņtenisa trenere Terēza Stenclava. Tomass Jēkabsons ir 19 gadus vecs puisis, kurš ar prieku studē bioloģiju Latvijas Universitātē un aktīvi sporto - viņš ir ratiņtenisists un ir apņēmības pilns kādreiz piepildīt sapni piedalīties paraolimpiskajās spēlēs. “Sports man ļāva būt disciplinētam, pieņemt savas izvēles, spēlējot tenisu jāizdomā taktika,” atzīst Tomass Jēkabsons. Līdz parasporta virsotnēm vēl jāmēro sarežģīts ceļš, bet nav jau tā, ka Tomass arī līdz šim būtu gājis vieglāko, – spina bifida diagnoze un dzīve ar kustību traucējumiem nozīmē daudz sarežģījumu, taču grūtības nav salauzušas viņa dzīvessparu. Tomass citiem vēl atrast to, kas dod prieku kustēties, jo tas, kas patīk un aizrauj palīdz arī sasniegt mērķus. Bet Terēza neslēpj, ka arī viņai mēdz būt grūti saņemties pastaigai. "Bet kad to izdaru, ir tik laba sajūta. Jāpamēģina vismaz vienreiz, un iespējams, būs arī otrā,” vērtē Terēza Stenclava.
