Ray Wilson is surfing royalty and all round good guy, having grown up on the Esplanade in Torquay, Ray has witnessed so many great events that have come to be legend in the surfing world. He was on the beach in 1956 when 30 thousand people descended from melbourne during the olympic games to witness a surf demonstration in which the Americas would change Ray's life and the direction of surfing in Victoria and Australia forever. Ray was the first Victorian surfing Champion and surfed in the first world titles in Sydney in the 1960's. He's lived a large but humble life full of adventure and close calls - I loved having Ray round for a coffee and a chat - I hope you enjoy
