El bicarbonato o el carbón pueden desgastar el esmalte si se usan con frecuencia. El esmalte no se regenera; cuando lo dañamos, el problema puede ser irreversible.Un blanqueamiento debe estar supervisado por un profesional para proteger encías y esmalte.Sí, cuando se hace en clínica y con diagnóstico previo. Antes de blanquear hay que revisar caries, encías, sensibilidad… No todo el mundo puede hacerlo sin una valoración previa.Por eso lo ideal es realizar un estudio personalizado antes de empezar.Hay quien dice que el blanqueamiento debilita los dientes. ¿Es verdad?No, si está bien indicado y realizado correctamente. Puede producir sensibilidad temporal, pero no debilita la estructura del diente.Lo que sí puede dañar es usar productos sin control profesional o abusar de remedios caseros.Depende mucho de los hábitos: café, té, vino tinto, tabaco… En general, el resultado puede durar entre 1 y 3 años. Con mantenimiento y buena higiene, se prolonga bastante.Que no se deje llevar por lo que ve en internet. Que consulte con su dentista para valorar si es candidato y qué opción es la más adecuada.Y que recuerde que una sonrisa bonita no es solo blanca… es, sobre todo, sana.
