Sometimes the dead-end job is retail. Sometimes it’s corporate America. And sometimes…you’re an escaped lunatic who decides to reopen the family medical practice with zero credentials, questionable equipment, and a murder bag full of instruments. I needed a week off from living, so for Dead End Jobs Month we’re clocking back into one of my favorite GNR episodes: 1992’s Dr. Giggles — because if pretending to be a doctor while terrorizing your hometown isn’t a career with limited growth potential, I don’t know what is. Larry Drake gives us a villain who giggles constantly, speaks almost exclusively in medical puns, and somehow makes every ordinary doctor’s tool look deeply threatening. Meanwhile Holly Marie Combs is just trying to survive being a teenager with a heart condition while everybody around her makes increasingly terrible decisions. In this one we get: 🩺 A doctor who absolutely did NOT graduate medical school 💉 Medical instruments being used wildly outside manufacturer recommendations ❤️ More heart problems than any teenager should reasonably have to deal with 🎡 Carnival chaos 🏚️ A family business that should have stayed permanently closed 😂 And enough medical one-liners to violate several workplace harassment policies This one earned a 5 FUCKING STAR post-watch rating the first time around, so if you missed it — or just need another dose — clock back in with us.
