The D1 basketball player turned poet from American Fork Utah and currently residing with her husband in Virginia. In this episode Taylor shares her unique journey from being a college athlete at Utah State University, to pursuing her passion for creative writing. From experiencing burn-out after 6 years as a collegiate basketball player, to navigating the difficult realities in a young adult life, to dealing with some traumatic experiences in relationships and religion, Taylor shares how it's all brought her to the space she's at today. She also delves into her own spiritual journey as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (using lots of examples, descriptors, and terminology specific to the LDS faith.) Together we explore her self-discovery, healing through writing, the balance between competition and collaboration, and the importance of aligning with the right community amidst spiritual growth. Support the show
