Reach: Getting Exposure For Your Art

You have to pay social media platforms to reach even your own your followers now. There is no chance of virality, unless you pay for it. Google's indexing changes mean your work will never be discovered unless you buy advertising. What is an artist to do? Submit your work to open calls? Those galleries have the exact same problem you do: getting reach. Ask them how much advertising they will buy to promote your show if you are picked, because they'll have to. I think artists may have to go back to basics and cut out the middlemen to connect directly with our customers. If you have any ideas on how to do this, I want to hear them!
