Acts of the Apostles 4: 1-12; Rs psalm 118: 1-2.4.22-24.25-27a; John 21: 1-14.INTHE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST Thetitle of our meditation today is: In the Name of Jesus Christ. After attendingthe Sunday school, a three-year-old-boy made his parents proud. He couldmemorize these words: "In the name of Jesus Christ" very perfectly."Who taught you to say this," asked his mother. The boy immediatelyanswered: "Jesus Christ". It was told that during the lesson thatSunday morning, someone played a role as Jesus, came to greet and talk withchildren. Jesus’ message to the children was that they are expected to alwayssay "In the name of Jesus Christ" every time they pray. Themessage of Easter mainly is about peace, and what that boy said was actually apowerful sentence, a prayer and a very important content of the peace ofEaster. The prayer "In the name of Jesus Christ" is manifested in theact of love which is the greatest law of God that we should carry out in thislife. On this principle, Peter and the apostles testified that Jesus Christ isthe way and ruler of all mankind. The Lord Jesus is the point of reference ofevery choice taken and every direction followed. The basic formula: In the nameof Jesus Christ, stands to attract everyone to the same truth, that is God, andto embody everyone to be the bearer of peace, love, and mercy of God for theirlives in this world. Onanother occasion, that was when Peter and the apostles returned to theirprofessional and regular fishing activities, the risen Jesus appeared to themwith an act that brought peace. He gave an example of service by providing themfood. The service of washing the apostles’ feet during the last supper eventwas the main inspiration. A life commitment to service after the model of ourMaster Jesus Christ is expected to be carried out by the community ofbelievers, beginning from the group of apostles and disciples to our time. Weneed to pattern our spirit and commitment to service after the one of Jesus. Everyday we encounter a regular and routine happenings and activities, the same roadthat we step on and the same air that we breath, but remember that the LordJesus keeps reminds us about our life commitment to service. Our point is this:that every single act of service should be under this powerful prayer, “in thename of Jesus Christ.” We suppose to justify our act of service to be the actof the Lord himself. The name of the Lord is above all forms of names, labels, status, and interests. By keeping the Lord’s name and power, we even ready toovercome all powers of evil in this world. Our salvation both in this world andin the eternal life will depend much on our fidelity to the way of the Lord. Inall our words and deeds may we always say: In the name Jesus Christ.Let's pray. In thename of the Father ... O Father in heaven, may Your Spirit strengthen our livesevery time we say: In the name of Jesus Christ. Hail Mary full of grace ... Inthe name of the Father ...
