Delivered by Randy from the Parish of Christ the King in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. 2 Corinthians 12:1-10; Rs psalm 34: 8-9.10-11.12-13; Matthew 6: 24-34.WORRINESS The title for our meditation today is:Worriness. Everyone has been worried and will have it tomorrow or the dayafter. A holy person like Saint Teresa of Calcutta once said that during herlife, she worried many times, whether all she did was pleasing to God or viceversa. Many saints are of the same situatio and of course we as ordinarypeople, experience worry as part of our lives in this world. A worried person usually feelsuncomfortable and is afraid of things that will happen to him or her. Worrinessis related to the future, and not today or yesterday. Tomorrow or the futureopens the door for us to think and hope to be what we want to be. We know wellthat tomorrow and future are unclear and uncertain, that is why we are thenhaunted by worriness. There was a couple of fianceepreparing themselves for the celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony whichwas only one week away. Time was decreasing from the 6th day to the designatedday, the more they worried. There were many things to worry about, such as ifthe weather was not good or not many people would attend, one or both of themwere unable to attend due to illness, chaos caused by outsiders and so on. There are many other examples thatillustrate how we often worry about bad events and negative experiences thatwill happen to us. The question is: what is the strategy to deal with thoseconcerns? There is one answer. Our realistic attitude must be a fundamentalthing to have. Life is about become happy and sad, there is when we fall andrise. If we understand this life like a spinning wheel and we live it asbelievers, worriness will not be a problem that is burdensome and obstructing. The thing that is more specific thanaccepting the reality of life, is to act positively towards existing weaknessesor shortcomings. The term used by Saint Paul in his second letter to the peopleat Corinth is "boasting about my weakness". Within us there areweaknesses that are correlated directly to the problems or difficulties outsideourselves. For example, the weather is so hot, it strikes the condition of yourskin that easily peels off, and this results in you a problem or challenge youshould face. It is precisely in this situation thatwe see ourselves as helpless, having burdens, or in spiritual expression, weare carrying the cross. In humility we accept calmly and patiently, thenwe leave to God whom with His great loveand power lift us up. Let's pray. In the name of theFather ... O benevolence and lovingLord, enable us to persevere and believe in You, even though we are alwaysworried in our lives. Glory to the Father ... In the name of the Father...
