Ready for the Unthinkable: REAC/TS hosts NATO symposium on exposure event readiness

Earlier this summer, the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS) hosted the NATO Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Medical Symposium in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The event brought together experts from around the world to share best practices to prepare for events where large numbers of people could be exposed to chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear elements. Imagine, for example, a drone carrying fentanyl flying over a stadium crowded with people. Robbie Beech, a military emergency care nurse from the United Kingdom who leads the NATO CBRN Training Panel, was instrumental in organizing the symposium.
