”Real Rest” Part 1 | Carolyn Lacey from Co-Mission Women’s Day 2023

Today we'll hear Part 1 from a talk by Carolyn Lacey at Co-Mission Women's Day this year. We're praising God that over 500 women gathered from around London to hear God's word, worship together, and listen to an encouraging talk. The topic this year was "REAL REST".  Thanks to all the ladies behind the scenes who helped make Women's Day happen.  Within each of us is a deep longing for rest, but it often feels far out of reach. Our culture tells us we must strive to earn the rest we seek, but Jesus invites us to lay aside our striving and come to him. He alone offers real and lasting rest that will satisfy our weary souls. In our two sessions, we will see how Jesus fulfils our longing for rest and how he equips us to live and serve out of the rest we find in him. Carolyn lives in Worcester with her husband, Richard, and their grown-up children. Richard is the lead pastor of Woodgreen Evangelical Church, and they have served in pastoral ministry together for 22 years. Carolyn works part-time as Woodgreen’s Women’s Worker and regularly teaches at women’s events and conferences.
