Rebekah Brooks is returning to News Corp as chief executive of its UK division, a year after she was cleared of all phone hacking charges. Her appointment has been condemned by Hacked Off and the shadow culture secretary Chris Bryant. What impact will her return have on a business that has tried to re-shape its image in light of the phone hacking scandal? Steve hears from Peter Preston, former editor of the Guardian. The News Media Association, the trade body for the UK newspaper industry, is calling on the government to implement 10 changes around the scope of the BBC's digital news services. In its submission to the government green paper on the BBC charter review, it says it "fundamentally disagrees" with the corporation's ambition to grow this area of its business. Steve Hewlett talks to Mark Oliver, former head of strategy at the BBC, and founder of Oliver and Ohlbaum - the firm commissioned to write the report.Following the arrest of two British journalists working for Vice News on the charge of aiding a terrorist organisation, we discuss the state of press freedom in Turkey. Steve is joined by former editor of The Guardian Peter Preston, who travelled to Turkey in his previous role of chairman of the International Press Institute (IPI) and Turkish journalist Yavuz Baydar, the founding member of P24, the Platform for Independent Media.ATVOD, The Authority for Television On-Demand, is the independent co-regulator for the editorial content of UK video on-demand services.
