Everything GOD does is truthful. GOD can't lie. With the truth that comes from GOD, you remove the existence of the lie. Lies exist in darkness. With truth, you get the light of GOD.  With truth, you can see the many pitfalls and cliffs, so you can avoid the calamity of submitting to pitfalls and walking off cliffs. Truth promotes GOD and invites the light of spirituality.
