Red Sun (1971) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 677

Spencer and Josh are going back to the original East meets West film, Red Sun. Really, this movie is like taking a bunch of big names from all around the world and creating one awesome epic of an action flick. It's a western and samurai film all rolled into one, staring Charles Bronson, Toshiro Mifune, Ursula Andress (Bond Girl), and Alain Delon who was a huge French movie star. Directed by Terence Young who did 3 007 movies, Dr. Know, From Russia with Love and Thunderball. In a story that is the proto Shanghai Noon concept of two unlikely guys having to work together, who don't really want to work together and get back what they both lost. The action is big and intense, the comedy might be a bit goofy at times, but is still enjoyable, and the characters all shine in what they do best. Even if Bronson is definitely taking the lead. This almost feels like too cool of an idea and still surprises us that it even exists and how we had missed out on this movie till now.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion!
