Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 722

Spencer and Dave have just watched the new Mortal Kombat movie of 2 (not to be confused with Annihilation) and were thoroughly impressed with the experience. This movie goes to show that a sequel can really fix a rough start and turn the boat around to glory. The first MK movie from 2021 is about a middle of the road watch. There are great moments but also a lot of goofy changes. This sequel comes in and literally fixes them all and upgrades the MK movie dimension by really feeling like the games. The movie was so good on just a first watch that we both thought that beyond the nostalgia for Mortal Kombat 1995, this movie was right there with it. In fact, with the new MK2, you could even bypass watching the first movie of the new series and as long as you had a standard understanding of the characters, you'd be perfectly dialed in.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Leon The Professional (1994) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 721

Spencer and Dave are going back to 1994 for a Vintage Cinema Review of the French action film, Leon The Professional. Shot so brilliantly, with fantastic action scenes, and a story that may shock some normies who don't think too deeply but really is a very touching and emotional experience. That really only French cinema can bring. Giving you the heart, the comedy, and the brutal violence. All wrapped into one glorious classic.Written and directed by Luc Besson and starring Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman. Everyone just chewing the scenery with charisma. This is such a great film, that any action fan needs to see and to top it off even more, there is an extended cut with over 20 minutes more of great times.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Metro 2033 (2010) Review - Silent Evil Podcast 30

Spencer and Cameron are going back to the Xbox 360 era of glorious story driven FPS games, this time with Metro 2033. The post nuclear fallout game of the Russian underground. Filled with all sorts of mutated and demonic looking monsters, the warring factions down below and humanities chance for survival. The story is based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro Novels. One of the few other than Parasite Eve that I can think of that is based on a book. The game has a lot of remnants of other games of the era, including Resistance, Fallout, Half Life, Gears of War, and so many more. Yet keeps up the action carnage with tense horror moments, survival story driven notes, and some limited ammo resources. A cool world to explore and divulge, for the first time or the third. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. D2 - Review - Silent Evil Podcast 29

Spencer and Cameron are finishing up the Kenji Eno Trilogy with D2 on the Sega Dreamcast from 1999 or 2000 for the American release. The survival horror opus game of his coming right after D and Enemy Zero. This game combines all the best elements from the previous games and refines the gameplay to include a really fun, RPG, Parasite Eve like battle system. With fantastic Dreamcast era graphics, spanning a 4-disc epic of what might be one of the weirdest and strangest stories around. Get ready for a Y2K Thing Like premise that starts with terrorists on a plane, crash landing into the Canadian tundra, and finding out about a virus created by your mom. Pushing the boundaries of the rating system and leaving a lot of really world ideals to wonder about after the credits have rolled. Mortal Kombat (1995) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 718

Spencer and Dave are reliving one of the most 90s classics around with the original 1995, live action Mortal Kombat movie on a Vintage Cinema Review Podcast. Being in the original runs of video game adaptation flicks, this film truly knocks it out of the park, especially for the time and how it needed to be put together. You can definitely nitpick some things in the picture, but the overall experience is just pure fun and entertaining, while still capturing the lore, characters, and storyline of Mortal Kombat 1 with an extra dash of 2 thrown in for good measure.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Falling Down (1993) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 717

Spencer and Dave are going back with a Vintage Cinema Review of the 1993 classic comedy and average man vigilante film, Falling Down. From Director Joel Schumacher. All about a man out of time, in an America that has lost its core values and how he has finally had his breaking point and is not going to take it anymore!Falling Down follows William “D‑Fens” Foster, an unemployed and increasingly unstable man who abandons his car in a Los Angeles traffic jam and attempts to walk across the city to see his daughter on her birthday. As he encounters everyday frustrations—bureaucracy, economic inequality, crime, and social tensions—his reactions escalate from irritation to violence, turning his journey into a dark, satirical portrait of a man who believes the world has wronged him. Meanwhile, a retiring police sergeant (Robert Duvall) begins to piece together Foster’s path, closing in as the day spirals toward an inevitable confrontation.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! You Will Die Here Tonight - Review - Silent Evil Podcast 28

Spencer and Cameron are diving in to discuss the indie survival horror game from 2023; You Will Die Here Tonight. It takes that graphic isometric overhead look of the Diablo, with a knockoff but good Resident Evil 1 story and setting and then combines in a House of the Dead like shooting segment with every encounter. So much variety in one gaming experience. And even though it is kind of a rip off to the core of RE, it still has an interesting story, with a trapped in a cloning simulation twist on the Biohazard world. The characters are fun and you will see them die often like it says in the title. But at least they give you lives for that aspect, along with achievements that lessen the impact of failure in life. Which also reminds us of a lot like the French game, Zombi. Filled with some nice puzzles, neat graphics, and the right length story experience that doesn't end up dragging on beyond its welcome. Which has a high chance of being an indie game pitfall and not knowing when to cut and trim your game down for proper pacing.Overall, it's defiantly a special and unique experience that any fan of the classic horror games will appreciate. Grab this on PC and hopefully sometime soon on consoles. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) Movie Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 715

Spencer and Dave are going back to 1988 and discussing what might be the greatest Jesus movie of all time. The Last Temptation of Christ. Directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Paul Schrader with Willem Dafoe playing Jesus, Barbara Hershey as Mary Magdalene, and the greatest Judas performance ever from Harvey Keitel. Based on the original book from Nikos Kazantzakis. This story of Jesus really has a grounded, realistic human version of the legend. With some magic and fantasy still there in the epic. But Willem Dafoe makes the carpenter come across as a real fella who is just trying to figure out what is best in life and how exactly to spread the word of love and God right. It's one of those movies that just tells an interesting story and the questioning temptation that may offend the non-open-minded Christians out there who realistically probably are not that good of folks themselves. If one just gets past that, this movie here just delivers on all fronts and is really a hidden gem for everyone involved in making it.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Fatal Frame 2 Remake Crimson Butterfly Review - Silent Evil Podcast 27

Spencer and Cameron are diving into a review and discussion of the new Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly remake. The new visuals, extra features, and gameplay styles. How this one compares to the previous 3 versions from PS2 to Xbox and Wii. The game is fantastic, filled will all kinds of ghostly terrors, Japanese ancient fables, and interesting story filled with death, sorrow, and a sisters love to get through the nightmare. Fatal Frame or Project Zero elsewhere, is defiantly a niche experience for a certain audience but it still holds the third tier of survival horror in our books. Only behind the big two of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Here's hoping for a remake of Fatal Frame 1 and 3 now to complete the new remaster series. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Commando (1985) Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 714

Spencer and Dave are going back to 1985 for a Vintage Cinema Review, to what might be the ultimate Arnold Schwarzenegger movie experience. Of course, Terminator and Conan the Barbarian are his most famous roles, but Commando is everything great about Arnie wrapped in one action filled party. It's got the big explosions, hand to hand combat, guns a blazing, fantastic one liners, and great bad guy characters that feel like proto–Metal Gear Solid like villains. What is not to love here. Plus, the movie is just excellently paced and is always one of the best watches, no matter how many times we have seen it. And we may have a Commando 2 sequel on the horizon. You never know. The story of Commando is about John Matrix and his daughter Jenny, living a peaceful life in the California mountains after a long stent as a military man. Matrix is retired but just when he thought he was out, they pull him back in. When Bennet (Vernon Wells), an old comrade who was known for flying off the handle, teams up with General Arius who wants Matrix to overthrow the Val Verde government. And to get him to do this they capture his daughter and hold her hostage. Well, the ticking time bomb is off, and John Matrix will stop at nothing to save his daughters life. No matter how much carnage he causes in his wake. Teaming up with Cindy (Rae Dawn Chong) and taking on other great villains like Cooke (Bill Duke) and Sully (David Patrick Kelly). Commando is like the Rambo story if everything went good after Vietnam for him. Though Matrix still has his own Trautman like General, Kirby (James Olson) trying his best to re-enlist him.Directed by Mark L. Lester and written by comic book legend Jeph Loeb along with Matthew Weisman and Steven E. de Souza who is on like every major action film of the 80s and 90s. A bad ass soundtrack by James Horner, edited by Mark Goldblatt, and produced by none other than Joel Silver. A recipe for the best of the best action credits have to offer. We also watched the director's cut version which only adds a little more than a minute's worth of bonus scenes in but is well worth it just for a fraction more violence and a couple extended chats between Matrix and Cindy.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! The Yakuza (1974) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 713

Spencer and Dave are going back to 1974 (1975 for the USA release) to talk all about the film, The Yakuza. From writer Paul Schrader of Taxi Driver, Rolling Thunder, and Raging Bull to name a few and director Sydney Pollack of Jeremiah Johnson, Out of Africa, and Tootsie comes a master class take on the Japanese gangster drama, made to introduce the culture to American audiences. Sadly, like many of Asian oriented movies of back in the day, didn't make a lot at the American box office but still delivers an almost perfect noir action picture.Starring Robert Mitchum, Ken Takakura, and Brian Keith. The story is about a group of old WW2 buddies coming back to Japan after their stent in the occupation time and looking for ones missing daughter who they suspect the Yakuza has taken. Robert Mitchum's character Kilmer knows Japan best and even had a romantic fling back in the day to a woman named Eiko, who he also saved from the war torn Tokyo. Her brother, Ken is in his debt to Kilmer, for protecting and helping his sister while he was missing in action post WW2. The lifelong obligation of giri, that can traditionally never be repaid is what he has to help out Kilmer and his friends take on the Yakuza. The movie is just fantastic, great Japanese set pieces, an excellent jazz like score, and then the brutal action one would expect from a Paul Schrader story. Filled with twists and turns that really sets up this amazing story. Plus, all sorts of Japanese culture references and early education throughout. Cool stuff for anyone raised on manga, anime, and video games.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! More American Graffiti (1979) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 711

Spencer and Dave are going back to talk the sequel to George Lucas' rock n' roll and hot rod hang out picture, with More American Graffiti from 1979 on the latest Vintage Cinema Review. This movie may look like a simple cash grab in for the huge success of the first film and the Star Wars boom but instead this movie really delivers film making like few others have tried. Literarily brining everybody back from the original film except Richard Dreyfuss but Harrison Ford still shows up. We got Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Paul Le Mat, Candy Clark, Charles Martin Smith, and Mackenzie Phillips. With Bill L Norton writing and directing the story from George Lucas. There are four stories going on, that cut back and forth, pre Tarantino style to deliver the events of New Years Eve from 1964-1964. Each one is shot and edited together in a completely different film style to really add some artistic flair throughout. John Milner has his drag racing story, in ultra-wide screen cinema style, Toad's tale goes into his journey into the Vietnam War and is shot in 16mm full screen to come across like news footage. Then the most interesting take is Debbie's story as she is now hanging out in San Francisco during the prime hippie era and everything is in multi camera view. So, you can get anywhere from 2 to 9 different screens going on at once. Similar to the Woodstock movie and music videos as well. The last story, Steve and Laurie are shot in a normal widescreen and starts off like a hard drama with their marriage falling apart as Laurie wants to leave her motherly duties and join the workforce. No way is a conservative man like Steve going to take that with his Modesto California farm upbringing, so you see their struggle unfold as they get involved in riots and protests for the war trying to bring it all back together.Overall, the stories are really interesting and everything just adds to the characters we first met in the original film. The movie is still funny and is filled with wall to wall music of the mid sixties era. And even for a modest budget there is still a lot of action and explosions packed into the Vietnam war scenes. If you enjoyed the first round, this one is still worth the drive in.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Resident Evil 9 Requiem - Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 26

Spencer and Cameron are jumping into the latest Resident Evil game, with Requiem, the 9th in the main series and really the first game since six (dis-including the remakes) that feels like a proper Resident Evil story. 7 and 8 were fun games in their spin off sort of way but just never felt like proper RE titles. More like they should have been their own games, like other Capcom titles that took the Resident Evil format and ran with it. Onimusha, Dino Crisis, and Devil May Cry to name a few. But whatever, here we are at 9 and boy what an experience it is.There's a parallel story line going on where you play as Grace Ashcroft who is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft (from Outbreak on PS2 for those that remember) and Leon Kennedy. A now grizzled hero from previous RE games including 2, 4, 6, and Gaiden. The cool thing is that each character has a different play style. Grace is more in the traditional survival gameplay style of limited inventory, less weapons, puzzle solving, and hiding from the big boss stalker enemies. While Leon on the other hand has seen it all and is prepared for whatever comes next, so he's locked and loaded, and ready to lay the smackdown on anything that gets in his way. Which ends up making pretty much the Resident Evil Greatest hits of gameplay from the past 30 years. This story has the feeling of being like Leon's next chapter after RE2. Similar to how Claire Redfield had this with Code Veronica. Leon is teamed up with Sherry Birkin on the radio (who knows what happened to Hunnigan) and is on the search for the T-Virus cure that they are both infected with. And somehow, Grace is the key to all this as left in the final messages of Oswell E. Spencer.Fantastic job they did on the baddies and the zombies are probably the most well-done versions in any game out there. Goes to show there is always a way to add some new dimension to an old formula. With new game plus extras and hopefully some DLC coming soon to answer some more questions like, who really is Zeno? What does Chris Redfield and BSAA have going on? And did Hunk make it out alive? All this and more will be pondered on.So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. D & Enemy Zero - Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 25

Spencer and Cameron are going with a double feature podcast episode. The FMV styled survival horror games from Kenji Eno and his company Warp. Revolutionary and mind blowing in the graphics for the time but might be archaic for the modern-day gamer. Nevertheless, these two games are really a major part of retro horror gaming history that any hardcore gamer should take a look at least once. First with D and originally on Panasonic 3DO back in 1995. All about a girl named Laura who goes to find her father after he went crazy on a mass killing spree at a hospital. But when she gets there, she is warped away to some castle like environment and there the mystery begins. Myst is the easiest comparison and explanation of how these games play out. The prerendered environments and the click around and find out puzzles. D predates Resident Evil 1 by just a moment, and you can see a lot of the proto scares to come. Next, we dive into the somewhat sequel, Enemy Zero on Sega Saturn in 1996 Japan and 97 USA. (Really just a sequel by a blonde heroine of the same name as the main character) This game's story is pretty much a Japanese remake of Ridley Scott's Alien, with a group of space travelers waking up mid trip and realizing there is an xenomorph on board creating havoc. But in E0, there's a whole bunch of aliens and to top off the madness, they are invisible... And the only way to figure out where they are is by a pulsing sonar sound system. Clever yes. Unique, definitely. A big pain in the ass. Oh, you better believe it. Enemy Zero is one of those games that would be like torture to complete this on original hardware. A lot of guess work with tons of trial and error but then you add in instant kills and load screens. The difficulty goes from challenging and scary to tedious and a slog. But with an emulation, save states, and a guide to see the maps and keep you on track, it is actually kind of an exotic gaming experience unlike much else. As long as your Sega Saturn emulation isn't giving you trouble. Ha ha.But all in all, these games were worth the experience. Back in the day, D was almost a perfect scoring game in magazines like Gamepro. Now it's something slow and guessing but still a great perspective into the past. Next, with a little longer wait for the release in the US, Enemy Zero came out with mixed reviews. Some appreciation and others, like Gamepro, giving it a 1 out of 5. Boy, the times had changed and it doesn't help that two other perfectly scored horror games came out around the same time. Little titles like Quake 2 and Resident Evil 2. But in the modern age, with the power of emulation, we think it's possible to enjoy Enemy Zero right. Now we are looking really forward to D2 on the Sega Dreamcast. The third game in this series. And the one that has always had my eye ever since it came out yet sadly, just never got around to buying and playing it. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. American Graffiti (1973) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 710

Where were you in 62?Well, that is where Spencer and Dave are traveling back to and indulging in the tail end of the 50s era party, before the radical era of the 60s got dark and real with the Vietnam war and all the other changes happening then. Great Americano rock n' roll and classic hot rods to boot with George Lucas' American Graffiti from 1973.With both of us growing up with Modesto California as our closet major city (The place this film takes place/ George Lucas' hometown) this movie has always had a major impact to the area. Even if the 50s popularity has slowly faded out in the last 15 years or so. This movie takes place in one night, somewhere in summer, right before the new semester and college starts up and 4 young lads need to find out who they are, where they will go, or if Modesto will suck them back in like a vortex and eat them alive. But in the meantime, each one will go out on their own adventure in the night. Whether that be cruising the streets of Modesto, picking up chick, getting involved in a gang, or trying to tell your girlfriend you want to expand your horizons before going to the hop. All being brought together by Wolfman Jack on the Radio. This movie is literally a time capsule, historic picture (similar to how Dazed and Confused represents the 70s of high school), that I think may even transcend Star Wars in the way future. Because this film just shows exactly what being in the 50s to 62 would be like and with that last bit of the ending, how intense the rest of the decade will become. Beyond this being George Lucas' 2nd movie after THX, this film stars all sorts of early days young talents like Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Candy Clark, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith, Mackenzie Phillips, Cindy Williams, and the big one, Harrison Ford. With Francis Ford Coppola heading the producing realm because Universal just didn't believe this film would amount to much. Funny huh, at only 777,000 this movie has well grossed over $140 million bucks and that's just box office. This doesn't include merchandising, video, television, and so on. So, this has become one of the most profitable if not the number one money making film in existence. Always bet your money on George. Heaven and Earth (1993) War Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 709 - Vietnam War Trilogy

Spencer and Dave are finishing off Oliver Stone's Vietnam War Trilogy of films. First it was Platoon where we saw the action from the American soldiers in Vietnam. Next, we watched Born on the Fourth of July all about the soldiers coming back to the USA and living in a changed world. Now, the third film from 1993, Heaven and Earth is all about what it was like from the Vietnam side of the war.The real-life story of Le Ly (Hiep Thi Le), a girl growing up in a peaceful for the moment Vietnamese village, farming rice and living life as a Buddhist. But then the French come and ravish the village before there is a calm before the war. Next, it's the Viet Cong and then the Americans to the point that she has been tortured and abused by all sides, and she and her mom leave towards the city of Saigon. Here she takes up whatever jobs she can to get by before she meets an American (Tommy Lee Jones), who is a little too determent to be with her and at first seems like the right caring person to get her out of Vietnam and taken to America. What seems like the best course of action turns into more problems when she gets to California. But Le Ly still makes the best of it and even though there are still more hardships she, is able to still achieve great success for herself before returning back to Vietnam. This might be the greatest made Oliver Stone movie out there. It's a very hard drama but it's full of some of the most insightful looks at the whole Vietnam conflict. A movie that should be shown in an educational fashion. But sadly it was released against an onslaught of big movies including Shindler's List, Tombstone, Grumpy Old Men, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Batman Mask of the Phantasm just to name a few. 1993 is one of the biggest years of releases and Heaven and Earth just got swept under the rug.Probably after Shindler's List, people where not looking for another hard hitting, true life story a couple weeks later. And I hate to say it, but I have a feeling that the casual American audience looked at this movie like a foreign film, that they were afraid they would be reading subtitles the whole time and that wasn't going to help the cause. But this movie is beyond worth checking out. Really a masterclass story being told.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Mouthwashing - Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 24

Spencer and Cameron are talking all about the stuck out in space, cabin fever style horror story of Mouthwashing from 2024. An indie title on Steam where it plays out more like an interactive movie, similar to games like Soma where one really gets to interact with characters and watch the story unfold into dark and humorous madness. It's the story about a space trucking, freight team, delivering cargo across the galaxy and at about halfway into their journey, they crash into a meteor and are left stranded in space with the captain just barely alive. So, the four remaining crew members take it to themselves to pass the time and figure a way out of there. The game goes back in fourth, Tarantino style, from before the crash and after the incident and weaves together the plot with twists and turns abound. Characters at first feel like they are leaning one way then the more you know they start to change your perspective. It's more of an experience than a standard game, but what we liked about it is how this is almost like the new way to make indie films, utilizing that light bit of interactive play mechanics that gaming has to offer. It's a fantastic combination for some really interesting ways to tell a story. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Absolute Batman Vol 2 Graphic Novel Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 708

Spencer and Ryan are back to talk about the new graphic novel of Absolute Batman Volume 2 by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles. The alternative new DCU world of the classic characters, where Bruce Wayne is a blue collar worker and is good friends with his general Batman Prime enemies, like Penguin, Two Face, Croc, and Riddler. This story starts off with an interesting new take on a monstrous Mr. Freeze plot then dives into the bread and butter of Batman taking on Bane in a whole new bad way. This Bane shows up early in the Bat career and totally wreaks havoc on Batman and all his friends. With Bane being the power muscle for a terrorist ring around the world and trying to get Batman to take the venom and become his new heir. It's a totally interesting take on the Dark Knight and there are layers upon layers of story and details intwined throughout that really takes at least a second read to fully digest.Beyond that we also go into just some other comic books we have been reading in the last while like some 80s Captain America and Iron Man meets Doomsday, to a newer Wonder Woman. Then catching up on manga with Black Lagoon and a new surprise book, Mujina into the Deep that is nothing but pure good story time.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Resident Evil 0 (2002) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 22

Spencer and Cameron are going back to 2002 and looking at what was the last big hurrah in the classic Resident Evil style of gameplay and story before Resident Evil 4 shook up the formula, Zero. When RE games were exclusive for Nintendo and everything just felt right. The GameCube controller almost felt dialed in perfectly for RE controls and the glory days of pre-rendered backgrounds, tank controls, and camera angles were at a pinnacle. But not everyone was game for this style by this point. RE0 really comes out at the tail end of the golden age Survival Horror gaming boom. And if you loved these types of games, Zero was an instant favorite. But if you have had enough of the puzzles, gameplay, and horror, this one would be more of the same. And a lot of people were looking for something different. I just remember X-Play (For my old man gamer reference) just hated the living daylights out of these games until RE4 changed up the arena. At least there was always Game Pro magazine (2nd old man gamer reference) that kept the faith alive for the love of the classic horror. This game started off as an N64 exclusive and take a look at that demo footage. That version would have been way past cool. The graphics always feel like they were more in line with the original game. Then the game finally got converted to GameCube in the RE 1 Remake engine. With a lot of cool experimental features for the gameplay. Sometimes goofy, but other times quite interesting.Resident Evil Zero serves as a prequel to the original Resident Evil, following rookie S.T.A.R.S. medic Rebecca Chambers (who is one of my all-time favorite RE characters) as she investigates a series of grisly murders near Raccoon City. After Bravo Team’s helicopter crashes in the Arklay Mountains, Rebecca encounters escaped death-row inmate Billy Coen, and the two reluctantly team up to survive a nightmare unfolding around them. Their investigation leads them through an abandoned train, eerie facilities, and secret laboratories tied to Umbrella Corporation’s bioweapon experiments. As they uncover the origins of the T-Virus and the betrayal of former Umbrella researcher James Marcus, they battle grotesque creatures and uncover the tragic consequences of unchecked scientific ambition. The story ends by directly setting the stage for the Spencer Mansion incident, revealing how the outbreak began just hours before the events of the original game.I would really like to see Rebecca and Billy return at some point in a new Resident Evil game, maybe even a third Revelations. Here's hoping! So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Resident Evil Code Veronica X Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 23

Spencer and Cameron are talking all about good ole Resident Evil Code Veronica on the latest Silent Evil Podcast. Coming out originally on Sega Dreamcast in 2000 and looking as realistic as possible for the time. With the full 3d environments and cutscenes making it feel like the full movie experience. The game later came out PS2 and GameCube with the Code Veronica X version. HD Remaster on PS3 and Xbox 360 too. Generally, just adding in more cutscenes and expanding on Wesker's whole reason for being in the game. You can play any of the iterations, though the Dreamcast version will always have a special place in my upbringing. This game always felt just huge! And gameplay wise it is the longest of the Resident Evil games at this point. Originally this was supposed to carry the number of 3 but Sony got their panties in a bunch and claimed they wanted the number on their console. Silly rabbit. Well, Sega like usual, always got the short end of the stick but they still got first dibbs on literally one of the greatest classic styled, survival horror games out there with Code Veronica. Funny enough, back in the day, my friends and I referred to CV as RE4. Well, until the actual 4 came out. This is the story of Claire Redfield, just 3 months after the Racoon City events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. She is still out searching for her brother Chris and is now in a Paris facility of Umbrella. After some John Woo like action, she is captured and sent to the Rockfort Island Prison where all hell has just broken loose and you know what that means. The T-Virus has no run rampant through the island, and it is up to Claire to make her way back to freedom, joining forces with a Leonardo DiCaprio lookalike named Steve. Who really goes to show, some people just have all the dumb luck in survival. Their journey finally takes them to a remote laboratory/facility of Umbrella in Antarctica, where the game definitely starts to take some Thing turns. Chris comes in the second half of the game to now rescue Claire, solve the Ashford mystery, and run into his old nemesis, Albert Wesker. This game is so close to feeling like a perfect cap off to an excellent trilogy minus just a couple things that open up for another sequel.Who knows what might be in store for Code Veronica, a full tilt remake maybe? Though you somewhat have one with The Darkside Chronicles and then an alternative playthrough with Gun Survivor 2. But we never know what Capcom might have next for us. Maybe they can grab Shinji Mikami and have him return to work his magic. Born on the Fourth of July (1989) - War Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 707 - Vietnam Trilogy

Spencer and Dave are continuing the Vietnam War Trilogy from film maker Oliver Stone, with the 2nd movie, Born on the Fourth of July from 1989. Starring Tom Cruise in what might be his mightiest performance ever, at least for the drama department with other actors including Willem Dafoe, Kyra Sedgwick, and Tom Berenger just to name a few. It's an award-winning movie that literally deserves it as you are going through the real life, true story experience of Ron Kovic, who Tom Cruise plays and whose book the movie is based off of. The movie also contains one of the greatest, if maybe the only, wheelchair battles in history with Tom Cruise and Willem Dafoe duking it out. The story follows Ron Kovic, a fiercely patriotic young man who eagerly enlists to fight in the Vietnam War, believing deeply in American ideals of honor and sacrifice. Severely wounded in combat and paralyzed from the chest down, Ron returns home to a country that seems unwilling to acknowledge either his suffering or the war’s moral cost. As he struggles with physical pain, survivor’s guilt, and neglect within the Veterans Administration system, his faith in the government and the war steadily erodes. Over time, Ron transforms from a flag-waving Marine into a passionate anti-war activist, channeling his anger and trauma into protest. The film charts his painful journey from idealism to disillusionment, ultimately portraying a man who reclaims his voice by confronting the very system he once trusted without question.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Platoon (1986) - War Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 706 - Vietnam Trilogy

Spencer and Dave are starting up Oliver Stone's Vietnam War Trilogy, with the first film, Platoon from 1986. An all star cast with Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Keith David, Forest Whitaker, John McGinley, and Johnny Depp to name just a few of the young buck actors. The movie holds up like no other and is really the start of the modern war film look and feel. Once you start up this film, it's hard to press pause. Platoon's plot follows Chris Taylor, a young American volunteer who arrives in Vietnam and is quickly stripped of his idealism as he’s thrown into the brutal reality of jungle warfare. Serving in an infantry platoon, Chris finds himself caught between two opposing sergeants: the compassionate, weary Elias and the ruthless, hardened Barnes, whose moral clash mirrors the larger conflict tearing the platoon apart. As ambushes, patrols, and civilian encounters grow more violent and chaotic, the men become increasingly divided, and Chris is forced to confront the psychological toll of combat, the loss of innocence, and the blurred line between right and wrong. Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water (2014) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 21

Spencer and Cameron are talking all about Fatal Frame 5, Maiden of Black Water. Also known as Project Zero outside of the USA. The game that originally came out on the Nintendo WiiU in 2014 and by now, has been re-released on everything else. Yet sadly, something is lost by not having that WiiU gamepad with the double screen action. But no worries, the game is still an excellent thrill ride into ghost battling horror as we played through on the Switch 2 and PC versions.FF5 is all about 3 girls living in an antique store with a guy (sounds like the setup for a Tenchi Muyo spinoff) that all have this connection to the suicide mountain spot known as, Mt. Hikami in Japan. And of course they will all keep making the journey into the mountains, fighting ghosts, and searching for what each character has lost. It gets a bit complicated but always interesting. We break down our whole gameplay experience and not only go through the story and characters but the gameplay mechanics, world building, controls, variations, and overall experience from start to finish. Even that odd Dead or Alive Ayane DLC like missions. Discussing the whole adventure and how this game compares to other survival horror games. After Resident Evil and Silent Hill, Fatal Frame is really the next big series when I think of Survival Horror games. One that would fit on the Mount Rushmore of the genre. Making me wonder what that last, number four slot would go too. Probably Alone in the Dark realistically, but that spot is still up for debate.FF5 will be the perfect precursor to getting us pumped and ready for the Fatal Frame 2 Remake game this year. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Let us know your thoughts on the game, survival horror titles, and what we should play next. The Silent Evil Podcast S.T.A.R.S. Natural Born Killers - Tarantino or Stone? (1994) - Old Man Orange Podcast 705 Vintage Cinema Review

Spencer and Dave go back to 1994 to re-watch the excellent Oliver Stone directed with Quentin Tarantino on script flick, Natural Born Killers. Now Tarantino isn't a big fan of his adaptation, though most of his material is still there and the film itself uses a lot of very Tarantino like choices. Elements that definitely come with later pictures like Kill Bill. So, we take a look at the original script and compare and contrast the differences and see what the better choice in the long run was. Because Oliver Stone is also one of the top film makers out there. The two of them together are like a powerhouse that maybe is just too much to contain. What is your take on this???Natural Born Killers with it's all-star cast of Woody Harelson, Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey Jr., Tommy Lee Jones, Tom Sizemore, and the always amazing, Rodney Dangerfield just to name a few of the cast. The story of two mentally and physically disturbed derelicts getting together over love and going on a 3-week killing spree just to prove a point before being locked up and interviewed for the high ratings and publicity they will bring. The movie is a psychedelic thrill ride of carnage and comedy, showing off the ridiculousness that the media pushes when it comes to this sort of topic. So much so, that the movie itself becomes an attack target in the 90s. And by now, just a unique, cool piece of cinema history. Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! The Evil Within 2 (2017) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 20 - Survival Horror Gaming

Spencer and Cameron start off the new year of survival horror gaming with the continuation of The Evil Within. This time in part 2, Sebastion continues his struggle with alcohol, loses his job, and seems like he's lost his mind from the incident. But Kidman finds him in his endless search for truth and tells him that guess what, your daughters not dead and we need you to go back in the Stem Machine at Mobius for another Matrix like adventure of horror. This game really takes The Evil Within and dials the whole experience into an almost pure perfect journey. Keeping that excellent blend of the best of Resident Evil and Silent Hill in full effect. Everything is firing on all cylinders with the controls, upgrade system, monsters and villains, graphics and storytelling. Gone are the goofy one hit kill sections and for the brief moments there are, you got a save right beforehand. And you even get to take out that jabroni chainsaw guy from the start of the first one too. So much good times here. So, we just went through a run and discuss out the whole experience in the podcast. And there is a lot of greatness here. Just too bad Shinji Mikami doesn't have an Evil Within 3 anytime soon to follow up on how damn perfect this game nailed it. This could be the best modern era horror game. So hopefully, in the long run, there can be more. I think Judi Kidman should be the hero of part 3. Just saying. Injustice DCU Movie ReWatch (2021) - Old Man Orange Podcast 704

Spencer and Dave go through the 2021 DCU Animated movie Injustice after playing through both the games and discussing the differences between the stories told. Spencer and Ryan podcasted about this film when it initially came out but it's surprising how much can be forgotten in just a few years since last watch, beyond the expected, Superman and Batman feuding and fighting with each other. This movie really sums up the story best and delivers the good exceptionally well. It pulls from both the game and comic series tie in yet does its own variation that might be the ultimate take of this story of a Superman turning tyrant. Well worth the watch and hopefully there will be some more Injustice content in the future too. Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Well, it's way past Christmas but Wes and Spencer had a Xmas and Chanukah Special Rewind Review episode on the Via VHS Podcast featuring Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights and Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas for good old time sake. As the busy season was upon us, the episode just didn't make the timeframe for the December release. Going along with our Dead Parents Christmas Marathon. (Cause somehow, someway, every movie we picked in that block had one or both of the parents die in the story, as tragic as that sounds. Just happened that way.) Injustice 2 (2017) Game Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 702

Spencer and Dave are finishing off the Injustice games so far, with number 2. Hopefully a third one will make its way soon but till then, we relieve the epic story from the Mortal Kombat folks at NetherRealm studios. This time, it all takes place in the Regime, alternative world. Except, oddly, Green Arrow decides to stay here from the real world (or another, another dimension) and is somehow already married to Black Canary and apparently can actually have kids here. Best not to ask how or why. Just go with it.But beyond that, more chaos is coming as Braniac, who was the one that destroyed Krypton in this universe, is now coming to Earth to claim Superman's sister, Kara. Supes being locked up by Batman after what went down in the first game, now need to put their differences aside and team up for the greater good. Sadly, it doesn't seem like it will last long. The story is fun enough and generally is just giving reasons for everyone to throw some punches at each other. The roster is also completely shuffled up with all sorts of new DCU characters joining the mix. Gameplay also feels more dialed in and of course the graphics are getting to the pinnacle of PS4/Xbox One Era gaming. Where the first was still in the tail end of the Xbox 360 and PS3. So, there is a lot to like here, while still giving enough merit to the first, making both games really come together for a whole lot of DC Comic battle choices.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! The Evil Within (2014) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 18 - Survival Horror

Spencer and Cameron are back to finish off the year of survival good times with one of the best modern day experiences out there. The Evil Within from 2014 and put together by the legendary Shinji Mikami after he left Capcom. The dude who practically made the survival horror genre what it is with Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Onimusha, and even Devil May Cry with an alternative action horror themed experience. The Evil Within feels like his magnum opus. Bringing together all the elements from his past and making something fresh and original too. A grand fusion of Resident Evil gameplay and Silent Hill world design. All about a cop named Sabastion who just happens to stumble into a hospital mass murder and is thrown in, pretty much Matrix style to a madman's mind. It's definitely a wild roller coaster ride of carnival thrills, and never knowing exactly what is going to come next. Excellent monsters in an every changing level of different environments each chapter. The game does have a few rough spots and a little too many instant death sequences. But the good far outweighs the bad. If you were looking for the right blend of good survival horror of classic and modern all in one, this game delivers. Injustice Gods Among Us (2013) Retro Game Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 701

Spencer and Dave are going back to 2013 to play the storyline of Injustice Gods Among Us. The DC Comics fighting game created by Ed Boon and his Mortal Kombat team of NetherRealm studios over at WB Games. The gameplay is changed up a bit if you are used to MK 9, the game that came right before Injustice. More of a Marvel vs Capcom 3 fighting style with a lot of new experiments added in.Overall, it's an excellent fighting game with a superb roster built in. The storyline gets all the heroes fighting each other and gives the single player something great to take part in with the chapter driven system. With an else world bad Superman taking full control of crime with an iron fist rule after the Joker fools him into blowing up Metropolis and killing Lois Lane and their kid. Every superhero falls in line with Supes, except the ole mischievous Batman who listens to no man but himself and continues the fight by bringing in heroes from the standard DC World. The story takes some dark turns, and the evil Superman has lost all care. So much so that anyone with an uprising intent, (like Green Arrow), has been eliminated. But this makes for the fun battles to be had and to see how this story all goes down in the end.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Batman Santa Claus Silent Knight Comic Book Christmas Special Review - Old Man Orange Podcast Big 700

Spencer and Ryan are on the big 700th episode of Old Man Orange Podcast and they are doing what they have always done. Talking Batman and having laughs. This time with a Christmas theme for the winter season with Batman - Santa Claus - Silent Night.A comic book tale that has way more Justice League going on than it needs to for only 4 issues. But it's a tale of Batman and Santa Claus (Who Batman mentions was one of his masters in his training days) fighting off a cursed Krampus and a bunch of Norse monsters from the Phantom Zone. Sounds like a good concept on paper that actually starts off decent but then ends up an interesting mix of too many choices jammed into one short book. Though that's not saying that there aren't moments throughout. Beyond that we get into some other funny Batman tales and Christmas movies and stories of the children riding their fat bikes in Holland to boot. Batman Returns (1992) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 699

Spencer and Ryan are going back to 1992 to watch the Christmas spirit of Gotham in Batman Returns. It has been a good while since both of us have watched this film but it was a major part of our youth in the 90s. The film that almost ruined the fast food tie ins with how dark they took some stuff. That in hindsight is really more campy, almost like a gothic Batman 66 style. Starring Michael Keaton as Batman, Danny Devito as the Penguin, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, and Christopher Walken as a new character, Max Schreck. Tim Burton's second run at a Batman film and WB let him go full ham with this one and for some reason they were surprised at what they got. This movie almost feels first and foremost a Tim Burton movie that just happens to have Batman characters in it. A lot of stuff you just didn't question in the 90s but nowadays after a lot more Batman comics being read, there is some real interesting and odd choices made here. That's not saying the movie still isn't enjoyable, you just need to go into it with a real open mind. Especially if you really are deep into Batman lore. The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 698

Spencer and Dave are going back to Michael Mann's 1992 take on the classic book and 1936 film adaptation, The Last of the Mohicans. A historical fiction story from 1757 during the French and Indian War where Daniel Day-Lewis and his adoptive Native American family get wrapped up with the British and French problems and of course they have to save the day from other tribes" brutal assault only to not be thanked that well. The film is action packed, with amazing production sets, and a realistic feel of what it would have been like in America back then. This is for both of us a movie that somehow, someway has eluded us all these years and we finally have sat down and watched it. Spencer and Dave are going back to 1972 to watch the river rapids adventure film of four friends taking a trip into nature one last time before they dam the river, flood the valley, and destroy the landscape. What starts out as fun times and good time friendship, turns dark once a couple of hillbillies take advantage of them. The friendship bond is pushed to the limits and a fight for survival is imminent. Starring Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight, Ned Beatty, and Ronny Cox. Directed by John Boorman from a Novel and Screenplay by James Dickey. This movie is an ultimate classic and still holds up strong as ever today. A lot of twists and turns on what will happen next. Some amazing banjo playing to boot too. Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Then get sidetracked as usual with other movies, games, comics, and life stories. Rambo Last Blood (2019) Modern Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 695

Spencer and Dave finish off their Rambo movie run, this time with part 5, Last Blood. And the extended cut as well. Which really does make this the definitive way to watch this film. The extra 10 minute opening scene with Rambo working Search and Rescue adds a ton to his character and really seems like a perfect fit for his skills. This movie plays out like a 70s revenge film. It has a slow burn to get going, then gets heavy and dark, and finishes off with some fantastic and brutal action scenes. Where Rambo goes to town of the drug lords and sets up all sorts of traps for them to fall prey too. Almost like the violence and action from the original First Blood book. Though this film might scare folks, especially outside of North America about ever wanting to go to Mexico. If this is the final Sylvester Stallone Rambo we will get. It is a solid ending. Though, this film is a little different from the previous 4. I notice of a second viewing I was able to appreciate the film even better. So out of the 5, what is the best Rambo film? Or, how do they stack in order to each other?Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Then get sidetracked as usual with other movies, games, comics, and life stories. Harvester (1996) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 17 - Survival Horror

Spencer and Cameron are going back to 1996 with the PC Point and Click Horror Adventure, Harvester. Probably one of the most brutal games out there in both violence, content, and humor. A game that puts the last 25 years plus of games to shame at how tame they are compared to the onslaught that this journey takes us on. You play as Steve, a man who wakes up in a 1950s town with amnesia and has no idea what is going on. Except that everyone is telling you that you are getting married to a girl named Stephanie who also has amnesia. So, you go out and explore the town, meet the interesting characters about, and solve some mysteries while trying to make all head and tails of what is happening. You find The Lodge, a temple in the center of town that everything revolves around and then try to become a member. This game is just beyond amazing in everything that it delivers, even if the controls are a little cumbersome at times. But the story is full tilt interesting to the very in, the characters are both ultra dark and hilarious all at the same time, and the classic horror elements of a Twilight Zone mystery are all there. This game came out the same year as Resident Evil 1 so you can see those proto horror game pieces coming together. With a live action style of graphics and FMVs, makes the game feel ultra realistic, especially for the time. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. Let us know your thoughts on the game, survival horror titles, and what we should play next. The Silent Evil Podcast S.T.A.R.S. Spencer Scott Holmes and Cameron Curbelo. Rambo (2008) Modern Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 694

Spencer and Dave are continuing their Rambo marathon, this time with part 4, John Rambo from 2008. Which might be the most violent, widely theatrically released movie of all time. The late 2000s to early 2010s was a glorious time of film, where great violence was pretty much guaranteed in every movie you watched. This sort of petered out in the mid 2010s with many movies going back to a PG 13 style. But for a short while movies were delivering NC 17 content in Rated R films. Punisher Warzone, Expendables, Grindhouse, Tropic Thunder, and of course Rambo to name a few.In this film, Sylvester Stallone is back to wear the bandana and save the day, 20 years post Rambo 3. Once again he is trying to live a peaceful, somewhat retired life. But just when he thought he was out, they bring him back in as some Christian Americans want to try and bring some aid (and force some Christ) on the local Karen people. But the Burma militia has other plans and carnage ensues. Next Rambo is manning the boat for some Mercenaries but they have no idea what they are truly getting into. Rambo pulls out his bow, kicks some ass, and let's everyone know who's boss. This film fires on all cylinders. And is up there as not only the top tier of Rambo experiences but just action movies in general. Something every action movie fan needs to see. We just watched the Extended Cut version and talk a little compare and contrast between it and the original theatrical version. It's similar to Sly's Rocky 4 director's cut, where there are some cool extra scenes added in but then some others taken out and rearranged. Making us want to see a third cut that just has it all in one.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! The Running Man (1987) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 693

Spencer and Dave go back to the 80s Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, The Running Man. A book by Stephen King that has the initial concept going for a Game Show styled survival challenge in a dystopian future. A story that has been used over and over throughout the years with Battle Royale, The Hunger Games, and Smash TV to name a few. But here is where it all started. Even though there is apparently a French movie called Le Prix Du Danger from 1983 that uses a very similar story too. Too bad it's next to impossible to find a decent translated copy in the USA.The Arnie movie ups the ante on the book and creates a totally over the top comic book like feel that seems like an offshoot of a Paul Verhoven film. Beyond classic lines, great characters, fantastic action, and a movie filled with so much fun, you can't help but watch it over and over. It may not be Top 5 of Arnold's movies but it's definitely still a classic. Now to get pumped up for the 2025 Edgar Wright version and see how all three versions compare.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! The Thing Game (2002) Review & Discussion - Silent Evil Podcast 16

Spencer and Cameron are diving into the classic PS2 survival horror game, The Thing from 2002. A sequel to the story of John Carpenter's The Thing movie of 1982 where you play as a group of Special Forces sent in to find out what has happened from Kurt Russell's team and the Norwegian Scientists. The ones from the prequel Thing movie. Carrying on the storyline that takes horror elements of the film and combines some story narration styles of Resident Evil and Half Life. With a very cool team based system of trust and fear placed in. Ground breaking back in the day and sadly not really used by many games since. This one here is a very special movie tie in game that delivers across the board. And with the Nightdive Studio Remaster out on all systems, the perfect and easy way to experience the adventure. Or go old school and grab the PS2, Xbox Original, or Windows XP PC version. So, come join us for the run through retrospective discussion, as we deep dive into the lore, gameplay mechanics, and give a retro review on our modern experience. House (1985) Vintage Cinema Halloween Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 691

Spencer and Dave are going for an 80s horror classic that both of us have never seen before for our Halloween Horror Movie Extravaganza review. Talking the film simply titled, House from 1985. Not to be confused with the other movies of the same title or the doctor show from the 2000s. This one is Directed by Steve Miner from Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3 fame along with Halloween H20 later on. The story comes from Fred Dekker who made Night of the Creeps, Monster Squad and Robocop 3. So good things were bound to come in this lineup and boy was this film something special.Beyond the poster, we didn't know what to expect and it had that spooky haunted house centerpiece, coupled with fantastic creature designs, and some odd comedy that only added to the party. To make the story even more excellent it's got some Vietnam War themes and set throughout it. Just an all around totally great horror film that I'm glad we can finally cross off the list.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Crocodile Dundee 2 (1988) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 690

Spencer and Dave are continuing their Crocodile Dundee marathon this time with good ole number 2. The Paul Hogan sequel that retains all the main cast and takes Dundee on another adventure, starting off in New York and then back to Australia. For the most part, the core elements are still intact but there is an odd action movie premise that takes hold of the whole film and feels just a bit off. Sue gets captured by Columbian drug lords and it's up to Dundee to find and rescue her. Then they hide out in Australia and literally fight them all off with traps like Rambo in First Blood. Or Home Alone even for that matter. It just sort of deludes the Croc formula and places in a made for TV like revenge thriller story. Not bad, just off a bit. Oh well, they can't all be top tier winners. There's still tons of fun to have in this journey, nonetheless.Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion! Crocodile Dundee (1986) Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 688

Spencer and Dave are going back to the 80s to talk the classic film, Crocodile Dundee. Starring Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski in a mix genre of adventure, romance, and comedy as local Australian hero and legend, Mick Dundee is interviewed by Sue Charlton for her dad's newspaper back in New York City. She journeys to the Australian bush to see this croc wrangler's life in action then decides to bring the man back to the city to see a different kind of wildlife. The film is just pure excellence, great jokes, fun characters, and between this and Mad Max, this is where Americans learn all the core elements of the Australian way of life. Dundee is a pure old world manly man, who takes care of business and meets new friends everywhere he goes. So charismatic that you can only hope to be like him as much as possible. We watched the film on Amazon Prime which still has the original American version intact and uncensored. Unlike that Encore 4K version that came out just a while back that censored out like 2 minutes of the movie. Which, there is nothing truly offensive in this comedy. It's just a man from a different world, making comments on new discoveries. And art should never be tampered with. That is the biggest slippery slope to censorship across the board. Beyond that version, there is the Australian version that adds about 10 minutes more in along with more Australian slang. I tried to find a way to watch that film here in the States, but it seems like the only practical way to secure that version is to buy an Australian DVD and get an All Region Player. One day that would be cool to see on a proper 4K Blu Ray Release. Join us as we break it all down in this spoiler-filled discussion!
