Redefining Failure: Why "Failing" is the Best Thing That's Happened to You

from Why Not #DoBoth with Kellie Sbrocchi · host Kellie Hall Sbrocchi

We’ve all been through it: we fail, we cry, and then we figure out how to get back up again. It’s tough, it sucks, and most of the time we don’t understand why it has to be such a necessary part of the journey. Tough luck, failure is 100% necessary to fail in order to grow. We don’t hope to fail, but when we do, we learn. So… does that mean we ever really failed to begin with?In this episode, I’m transparent, sassy, and emotional — a winning combination — but most of all, I want to make sure you walk away with a better understanding of why you needed to go through the hard parts of life in order to grow. My personal experience with failure ranges from falling at a state track competition, to bombing college exams, to changing my career in the Navy, to finishing runner-up at MISS CALIFORNIA USA in January 2020.I’ll walk you through four reasons why failure may be the best thing that’s ever happened to you, because I’ve been through it too, and how to redefine what it really means to “fail.”Strap in, it’s an emotional one. You’ll walk away with not only a better understanding of my personal journey, but your own, and why you may have never really failed to begin with.Disclaimer: This episode originally aired in April 2020.Enjoyed this episode?
