Redefining Failure: Why "Failing" is the Best Thing That's Happened to You (FBF)
from Why Not #DoBoth with Kellie Sbrocchi · host Kellie Hall Sbrocchi
Happy flashback Friday! In honor of Kellie speaking atHarvard University today (yay!!), bringing back one of the episodes from 2020 which discussed one of her favorite topics in her keynote: failure. We’ve all been through it: we fail, we cry, and then wefigure out how to get back up again. It’s tough, it sucks, and most of the timewe don’t understand why it has to be such a necessary part of the journey.Tough luck. Failure is 100% necessary to grow. We don’t hope to fail, but whenwe do, we learn. So… does that mean we ever really failed to begin with?In this episode, I’m transparent, sassy, and emotional (awinning combination) but most of all, I want to make sure you walk away with abetter understanding of why you needed to go through life’s hard parts to grow.My personal experience with failure ranges from falling at a state trackcompetition to bombing college exams, to changing my career in the Navy, tofinishing as the runner-up at MISS CALIFORNIA USA in January 2020.I’ll walk you through four reasons why failure may be thebest thing that’s ever happened to you, because I’ve been through it too, andhow to redefine what it really means to “fail.”Strap in, it’s an emotional one. You’ll walk away with notonly a better understanding of my personal journey, but your own, and why youmay have never really failed to begin with.Disclaimer: This episode originally aired in April 2020Enjoyed this episode?
