Dr. Jake Lancaster is the Chief Medical Information Officer(CMIO) for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation and Chief Medical Officerfor the Baptist Medical Group. He also continues to practice as a part-time internist for the Baptist Medical Group (BMG). Dr. Lancaster completed his undergraduate degree in physicsat the University of Mississippi and Sally McDonald Barksdale Honors College,where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his medicaldegree at the University of Mississippi, where he served as student bodypresident and was inducted into the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. Hethen went on to complete an internal medicine residency at the University ofAlabama at Birmingham, where he simultaneously completed a Master of Science inHealthcare Administration from the UAB School of Health Related Professions. After residency, he pursued a fellowship in the field ofClinical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and earned anadditional Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Informatics from VanderbiltUniversity. After completing fellowship, he went on to be the Chief MedicalInformation Officer at West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN, where he practicedas an outpatient internal medicine physician and hospitalist. He is board certified in internal medicine through theAmerican Board of Internal Medicine and clinical informatics through theAmerican Board of Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American Collegeof Physicians and the American Medical Informatics Association.
