Summary
The big story in the NFL this weekend was the Dallas Cowboys suffocating the New York Giants, and Jared thinks it was in large part due to Odell Beckham Jr.'s absence. He goes on to praise the Cowboys, especially second-year quarterback Dak Prescott, but discusses how important Beckham is if the Giants want to live up to their preseason hype. Under things he didn't expect to see, Jared discusses Alex Smith's prowess, the Cleveland Browns hanging close with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and impressive showings from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams. We then move to results that were disappointing, including the Seattle Seahawks continuing their offensive woes in road games, the highly touted New England Patriots defense getting smoked, and bad Andy Dalton showing up 17 weeks too early. Among players who pleasantly surprised this weekend were Carson Wentz, Marshawn Lynch, and Matthew Stafford, all of whom play vital roles for teams with playoff aspirations. Not to be overlooked, there was also some fantasy football advice sprinkled throughout the show, as you should make sure Kenny Golloday, Tarik Cohen, and Andre Ellington are all owned in your leagues. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
